15 May 2008 (28 weeks) Hmm, surprise!! I managed to lose weight!! how can that be?!? Anyway, Baby is still growing very well and so, not much of a worry here!! ^_^
Mama's weight: 83.6kg Baby's weight: 1.380kg

19 April 2008 (24 weeks)
Mama's weight: 84.7kg Baby's weight: 0.740kg

20 March 2008 (20 weeks) Had my weight and blood pressure taken~ didn't manage to eat a lot for the past 10 days and so my weight didn't increase at all... Saw Dr. Wong at the appointment time... she could see that I was so relief~ anyway, she gave me the test report and told me that everything was ok now~

19 March 2008 Got a call from the clinic!! but was the clinic nurse, not Dr. Wong!! The test results was normal!! 46 chromosomes in total!! no more no less!! just nice...!! Phew!! what a great relief!~! ^_^ XX or XY you asking?!? hahah, dun tell you!!

8 March 2008 Mama, Ah Bi, Evianne, Nick and Niko companied me to TMC to do the detailed scan + amniocentesis... Did the detailed scan 1st; saw baby's features and internal organs and the radiographer did measurements for limbs, head, spinal cavity, etc... saw that Baby didn't have cleft lips, which is also a piece of good news... oh, the radiographer asked if we wanna know the sex of the baby but Nick didn't wanna know so I asked the radiographer not to state the sex of the baby on the print out~

Next, I was ushered into another room by a nurse for amnio... she laid me down on the bed with the monitor of the ultrasound machine on my left; just then Dr. Wong, the nurse & another radiographer came in... Dr. Wong re-assured that everything will be fine~ The radiographer then used the ultrasound machine to find the place to withdraw the amniotic fluid... She must make sure that baby is not in the way... Dr. Wong then disinfected the part of my tummy with iodine... and what she withdrawn from the pouch was... WOW!! a needle, with guage size of about 26 吧, was almost like 6 inches long!! that's suppose to poke through my belly!! ok, so now Baby was not suppose to move that much as the needle went through my belly ya... but you could see that Baby was moving very actively!! alamak... how ah? hmm, started humming 大悲咒 to myself and surprisingly, Baby started to calm down and remain very still as the needle went through my belly and into the amniotic cavity~!~ Dr. Wong had to withdraw about 20mL to run the test~ So which method did I chose? the cell culture method... Why?!? coz 观音菩萨 said so...!! Crossed my fingers for the test results to come back... Was going to have sleepless nights until then~

7 March 2008 12.50pm... the clinic was already closed for lunch but the clinic nurse still usher us in~ seems like Dr. Wong had already inform them about us... We talked about the possibilities of the blood test going wrong and the possiblities of still having a normal baby despite of the abnormal test result~ Dr. Wong suggested doing the blood test but it would take another 10 days before we get the results... if the results come back to same then how?!? i didn't wanna waste anymore time worrying about the results; we were going ahead for amniocentesis even thou there's a 2% chance of miscarriage... Dr. Wong helped us to make an appointment next day to do the detailed scan as well as for amniocentesis... there are 2 different types of sample processing; 1 is by PCR while the other will be cell culture... you can get the results for the PCR method within 3 days while it will take more than 10 days for the cell culture method... Went to 观音庙 at bugis to pray pray and also to seek for some answers...

6 March 2008 Dr. Wong called me personally on my mobile... hmm, not really a good sign?!? Was told that my blood test for tisomy 21 was 1:419 which is high for my age group; should be around 1:900+... but that wasn't the 1 that cause me to freak out~ i was 1: 149 for trisomy 18!! My 1st reaction was doubting the accuracy of blood test, doubting the person who run the test, doubting the machine, blah blah blah... Anyway, was told to go in to discuss about my situation the next day... why like that!! broke down when i google searched for trisomy 18... Called Nick up and broke down further~ but had already made up my mind to do amniocentesis... and if the results is bad, will terminate the pregnancy...

21 February 2008 (16 weeks) Had my blood drawn to do the triple test for detection of fetal trisomy 21, trisomy 18, open neural tube defects, etc based on alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) and unconjugated estriol (UE3) value... See how fast Baby grew!! Was already 10.4cm long, head to toe~

24 January 2008 (12 weeks) see Baby's face!! hmm, Baby is big; for the gestation age... Dr. Wong pushed the EDD forward by 1 week... 5 August 2008!! hahah... :)

28 December 2008 (8 weeks) Baby number 2 in the making!! ^_^ Such amazing things that can happen... from fusion of egg & sperm to form a zygote which quickly lead to replication of all genetic materials needed to form all things necessary for life...!! hmm, cannot remember when was the 1st day of my last menstural cycle... alamak, but can remember the 1 before that!! hahah, anyway, Dr. Wong give me the EDD to be on 12 August 2008!!
